In the main square of Itri, in the piazza where you will find the 11th century church, you will also find a restaurant with the unusual name of Fra Diavolo. Fra Diavolo was the nick name that was given to Michele Pezze, a local Itri boy born in 1771.
Life Lessons from the Secret Garden
The weather has cooled down after our little heat wave last week, now it is at a very comfortable 80 degrees with a cool breeze. I am enjoying the gardens surrounding the house. They are playing music and mixing up Spritz (the favorite Aperitivo or mixed drink of Italy). The Italians are out in full regalia, suntans glowing, and families playing and lounging in the sun together.

It is an exhausting exercise to try and decide where to spend your time anywhere in Italy because there are so many choices.
